Motherhood: 3 Tips To Being a Better Mama

Happy August friends!!

I am blown away as we are approaching the big 3 with our Little's birthday next month... Where does the time go?

Funny story, a client told me the other day she calls this age three-nager and I about fell over laughing. It is so suiting as all I can say is drama has hit! Oh and we heard a naughty word from the kitchen the other day while someone was changing out the faucet and let me just say, it was repeated over and over in the cutest little voice, I almost peed my pants and yes, it rhymes with duck🙊

Ahhh the joys of parenting!

3 Tips To Help You Be a Better Mama:

parlor girl alone time, solitude, meditation, quiet time

1. Alone time // it is super important for you to be on your mental A-game. Taking alone time to recharge is what helps to fill my personal battery up.

For me: whether its taking a walk by myself, having a quiet morning, getting up at 4am and having the house to myself (and the mutts), meditating, sitting in a quiet car outside of work ( I do this all the time lol), whatever it is, just having a few minutes a day in solitude to calm the mind, count your blessings and keep your attitude of gratitude strong will help you be a better mama. That also means unplugging!! Staying off your phone will help calm your mind and let you feel as your time alone really was quality time as well.

2. Purpose // As a mama it is so easy and common to feel lost. I hear from so many women that they lose purpose and their sense of self. Often times, we sacrifice SO much for the kids and hubs that we end up cutting ourselves short. Let me tell you one thing: Put YOU First!! Then hubs then kids. If you are on top and cared for first (and NO this is not selfish by any means), then you are more whole, put together and a better wife and mother.

For me: I get up early as stated above↑and make sure to tend to myself daily, for the things that are important to me. I like to have my AM routine done, workout, get ready, shower-makeup-hair, all before my household wakes up. For me, that helps to make my day start off by feeling accomplished.

3. Exercise // This is probably the #1 thing you can do for you! Not only is it physically beneficial, the mental benefits you will receive from working out are priceless. As we say in our home happy wife, happy life! Doing something physical each and every day is a game changer for me and my family.
Friends, jumping jacks, walking lunges, crunches and air squats are simple, free and can be done in the home. We also love to go to the park and now that my little bikes/trikes, I walk along side her. Just get out and move and you will be one happy mama.

For me: I choose to do this first thing so I don't sit around all day and procrastinate and eventually talk myself out of it. But find a time that works best for you and your family and I promise you will be one happy mama!

My husband slapped me the other day with a total game changer! (No, he didn't physically hit me, but a mental jolt!) He said whenever you're feeling down just look at that face!!

Boy was he right.

Danica is seriously my most amazing accomplishment. I think we often seek so many external things to define us, make us feel good and to validate us. When we forget that everything you need is right inside of you and in front of you ♡
