I must confess that the minute warm weather hits, I immediately start to feel so electrified and giddy that summer is upon us. This time of year fills me with those warm and jittery feelings (kind of like a million fire flies dancing in the night) that I can remember getting all the way back to grade school, in anticipation of knowing summer break was approaching. I have always felt that the 4th of July really hits it home, that you are smack dab into summer. My sis and I joke that we get so silly come 4th of July as we love everything decked out with stars and stripes, from plates to napkins all the way to flip flops and towels. Our spirit really comes to life and I also have to say I am so proud to be an American!!
Which brings me to a second part... With the tragic event that took place in Orlando this weekend, I want us all to remember one thing L-O-V-E !!! No matter where you are, what you do, who you are, just LOVE. Love your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and send loving energy to all passer-byes. I feel we need to spread more love and good energy through these dark times and I believe we can all make a difference just by a simple positive, conscious shift. My heart goes out to all the victims in this tragedy and hope that their families can find peace.
Lastly, when it comes to figuring out what to wear for the 4th of July, it usually depends on what my activities are going to be. Classic is always a simple no-brainer. I love this ripped denim skirt and the red accessories. If you are not a crazy spirit animal like me, then you can always opt for reds, whites or blues and denim anything looks amazing for this fun little holiday.
