I am so excited to share my new foundation cocktail with you all. I have ALWAYS worn MAC. Sometimes deviating and grabbing something new in search of change and then never really liking it and always reverting back to my trusty old MAC. I recently turned 36. I absolutely LOVE my age and where I am at in life but I will tell you that my skin has been changing. It is not the same as it was 5 years ago which launched me into this expedition of seeking new foundation.
A little history... I was a sun worshiper ALL thru my 20's. Now in the 30's you see every stinking detail and just want to slap yourself silly for thinking those long basting hours were OK. I have not had botox or anything along those sorts yet but I do believe in Glycolic Peel series, annually. They really do wonders for my skin.
The reason I am telling you all of this is because I have a ton of freckles, beauty spots, sun damage whatever you want to name them and I hate it. I want the look of flawless, airbrushed skin. Well guess what? Along with that comes cake-y makeup that you could scrape off and be mistaken for a theatrical performer.
I have heard wonderful things about NARS for a long time now and set out for the total re-do and new foundation basics. The girl at Nordstrom was a doll. She matched me up and informed me that this is the perfect line for us 30-somethings and older. "It is more mature of sorts" ;] (she did work for MAC for years before and like me tired of the over makeup-ing and knew exactly where I was and what I was seeking!)
NARS is like wearing your own skin but with coverage and enhanced. The Sheer Glow foundation has the most wonderful scent and goes on with your fingertips. I am oily so I like more of a matte look and chose a foundation powder to go over the liquid foundation to help eliminate shine and add a little more coverage. Laguna bronzer is FAB! I have had this before and it is the PERFECT brown bronzer as it is truly brown and not orange or filled with sparkles! I had the Orgasm blush already and wear it occasionally depending on which lip color I choose. But she sent me out with Madly a seashell pink that is perfectly matched for any skin tone and should go with just about every lip color.
I am so excited to share all of this! I love to find new products and then have them meet or surpass my expectations!
As I always say, less is more! And this line really helps to confirm that!!
