31 Days - Daring Days

Each day is an absolute gift. Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in the mundane tasks of day to day life that we literally forget to stop and smell the roses, or live the day to its fullest. We and myself included always think we have tomorrow to start a project,  complete a task or just simply put it all off. Let's remember to use today to its fullest!

I have gone back and forth for the last 8 days wanting to and not wanting to (due to fear) link up with the Nester HERE and write about a topic for 31 days. It seemed great to link up with people that I did not know and were like minded. Well, then I attempted to link up and had trouble and let that be my out excuse. But never fear...
If you have followed me before then you know I did a series awhile back ago about a 'Do a Day HERE. It was a personal challenge to keep me active with my blog and connected with you, sharing what I know and already do on a daily basis.

This new series for 31 days has led me in a little different of a direction. I was reading Fitness magazine last night and as Oprah says, I had an "a-ha" moment. I came across a page that had a small paragraph talking about being more daring. Stepping out of your box and comfort zone. So here I sit, ready to challenge myself and dare myself to step out of my usual ways for the next 31 days...

My topic for 31 days will be "Daring Days"

I am challenging myself to step out of my black and white box to find a little more gray in life and see if I can create different/new routines or as I like to say "wing it!" (Thanks Sis).

Here goes...

Day 1...
A New Challenge- Train for a Half Marathon
Ironically enough, before I came up with this entire blog post, I had already fired off a few text messages this morning inviting my dearest girlfriends and brother to train for a half marathon. I am guessing this "Daring" seed was already planted last night and must have been watered from the morning dew, presenting itself to start the growth process today! The response was great, all filled with enthusiasm and even though most of us are far, we will train separately and are looking for a race that we can all fly, meet up and run together!
Running for me has always seemed boring-a snooze fest. I do it because it provides results for my body and sometimes you just need to get a good ol' sweat on. However, there is one thing I do know about running, if your mind is not in it then your body will not perform. I was pecking around for marathon trainings this morning and came across a wonderful quote:

"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."
-George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

I feel like that says it all. I promise to come to a close now and I look forward to sharing the next 31 days with all of you.

Go challenge yourself!!!!!!!
P.S. If you would like to join in on the Half then please know you are welcome to be included. Have you run one before? Or any other race for that matter? I am eager to hear all of your comments and insight.
P.S. In case you are wondering? Yes, that is me skydiving! One thing I have already challenged myself with and accomplished in life ;] Phew!
