One for One

I am sure you have all heard of TOMS shoes by now. After all, they gave away their millionth pair in September of 2010. TOMS shoes was created in 2006 after American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they didn’t have shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. Hence, One for One was born. He returned later that year to Argentina with a group of family, friends, staff and 10, 000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.
My first experience with TOMS shoes was in 2007. I remember stumbling across the TOMS myspace page (yes, I said myspace lol) and immediately knew I wanted to support their movement and suffice my shopping habit all in one :) I purchased a basic pair of Classics and they were the most comfortable slip-on ever. Then a couple months ago, I noticed that Nordstrom had started carrying them (yay, meaning an even LARGER support from people) and browsed through their new styles, settling on the ‘Classic’ Glitter Slip-On in Black. To die for! I am not even kidding when I say these are the MOST comfortable shoes. TOMS have a classic suede insole with cushion for comfort. They are true to size and stretch just a tiny bit, leaving your foot feeling as if it were in slippers. TOMS come in an array of colors and textures that will appeal to anyone and everyone. You can find them in tweed, canvas, plaid, metallic, cord, hounds-tooth, wedges, herringbone, leopard, splatter denim, safari, stone wash, glitter and classic canvas. They also have a vegan line of shoes and have moved over into eyewear, enabling them now to give sight to a person in need. WOW! Much appreciation for TOMS!!

I am ALWAYS seeking out ways to help others that are in need. This is a great way to give back and yet obtain a little bit of fashion for you.

If the shoe fits, WEAR it!
