Birth: What To Pack For The Hospital

Leggings & Tank: H&M | Shoes: Old Navy

This week marks 36 weeks for me now. With that being said, it could be "GO" time at anytime! A friend of mine recently gave birth at 36 weeks, lucky dog. Anyways, I have compiled a list for you below on what to pack for a hospital birth and the other thing that I am going to mention is have your car seat installed in the car and waiting as well.
what to pack for birth
My Bag: Louis Vuitton | Baby Diaper Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Here are a few things to help you nesters/planners get your items in order for your upcoming hospital birth. If you are like me, a total planner, then you are eager to have another thing completed and checked off the list. This is pretty detailed so take it as you will. Some people like a lot of details (me) while others can be a little more streamlined. It is up to you and just a guide that I put together to help myself. I would always rather be over prepared than under. (Like they say, I am the one you want to go camping with!) I am a total over-packer and found it easier to put the baby items in her own bag and then all of mine in a separate bag. Plus, I am funny about what to wash the baby items in and I don't want her items smelling like my detergent and fabric softener in case she is sensitive. I know type-A.
For Labor:
  • ID
  • Insurance card
  • Any hospital paperwork you might need (mine was all online before hand)
  • Birth plan (if you must)
  • Important numbers in the front of your notebook/journal in case your phone does not work
  • Bath robe with loose sleeves or loose dark fitting gown
  • 2-3 pairs of socks (you don't mind getting dirty or throwing out)
  • Slippers (dark or old)
  • Warm sweater
  • Lip balm, your lips can dry out during labor
  • Phone, ipad/ chargers
  • Camera & chargers
  • Book or magazine to help pass time (some say this is pointless)
