Eliminating Flyaway Hair

Due to our dry winter air outside (well not right now, we practically need an Ark in California) and our indoor home heating systems, I am sure most of us are experiencing these little, annoying, unwanted hairs reaching for the sky. I have a couple quick remedies to help tame them and keep your hair coiffed to perfection!

Hairspray on your hand or brush:
Lightly spray the palm of your hand or brush bristles with your hairspray (I use Kenra 25 which is a stronger hold) then swipe or graze it over the top of your head making contact with the flyaways, smoothing them down into the rest of your hair.

Dryer Sheet:
You can perform the same action as above with the simple use of a dryer sheet, rubbing it over the top of your hair.

Hand Lotion:
If you are on the go or without your hair product arsenal, good old hand lotion will do the job too. Apply to your hands as normal and with whatever is left over, run your fingers through your hair to spread and calm.

If your symptoms are a little more challenging and you need to bring out the big guns, you may need to invest in a humidifier to add some natural moisture back into your environment and eat plenty of natural fats like avocado, almond butter, peanut butter, walnuts and olive oil. Lastly, a great moisturizing deep conditioner will help weekly. You can see my other post for deep conditioning for that info.

Happy Winter! Thank goodness for Snowboarding or I would be wishing for Sun :)
